Annie’s Way is a Taiwanese beauty brand that specializes in skincare products. However, they’re better known for their famous jelly masks. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this brand, especially about the Arbutin Hyaluronic Acid Brightening Jelly Mask, which is definitely a luminary out of all their skincare products, since everybody is raving about it.

This Annie’s Way Arbutin Hyaluronic Acid Brightening Jelly Mask claims to have the following benefits:

A little FYI, since I’ve passed my mid twenties, I started to notice some fine lines and slightly dark spots around my face. Considering what this mask claims to do it should be all up in my alley. Not to sound biased, but I guess there comes a day where we all have to come to terms where we have to take aging seriously, a little wake up call where we have to pay more attention to our skincare. Most of us tend to neglect the importance of a facial mask, but honestly a great skincare routine sets the foundation for a better and brighter skin where we all can benefit from in the long run. So with that being said, I’ve been playing around with different facemasks lately and I have to say this Arbutin Hyaluronic Acid Brightening Jelly Mask has pretty much amazed me the most and you will find out why in a minute.

Packaging

First, lets talk about the packaging. This mask comes in a big plastic tub, nothing fancy at all but I can surely appreciate how clear and straight to the point this packaging is. There is a description on the back where it has a clear explanation on how to use this mask in the right way. When you open up the lid, there’s a thin plastic cover that protects the product from drying out, also it keeps the product nicely inside without being all messy. This mask comes with a handy spatula, which makes it more hygienic since you don’t need to use your hands to apply the product.

Product

Now the first thing that came to mind was the consistency, it has a very thick and – like it name says – jelly texture. Even when holding the tub upside down not a single drop came out, so it says a lot about how thick and solid the consistency is. Unfortunately I’m not a big fan of the smell, the plastic-like scent smells kind of off to me, but luckily it’s nothing too overwhelming and the scent will eventually fade away after a few minutes.
This jar has 250 ml amount of product, which seems like a lot but it actually won’t last that long if you use it on a regular basis, considering the fact that it needs to be applied thickly on the skin. This jelly mask has three months shelf life, starting from the day when it’s opened, don’t be thrifty and make the most out of it before it expires. It’s recommended to use this mask twice a week or as much as needed.
On the direction instructions it says: “After cleansing the face, apply toner as base. Using a spatula to apply Jelly Mask evenly approximately 0.3 – 0.5 cm thick. After 15 – 30 minutes, remove the Jelly Mask by scraping gently. Wipe off with tissue and rinse with water. Apply your usual moisturizer.”
Once I applied the mask it has a nice soothing and cooling effect. This mask won’t slip and slide on the skin, so you won’t be restricted with movement during the 30 minutes while having the mask on.
After 30 minutes, you just simply scrape off the jelly mask with the included spatula. I love how easy this spatula works; this spatula is very flexible and has a nicely curve to it, which makes it easier to take off the jelly mask. When most of the products are scraped off, I like to rinse off the residue with a washcloth using lukewarm water.
